Agapé Community Centres
When Agape asked me to workshop and share ideas on How to play with your child with the volunteers. I gratefully accepted as I truly consider it a privilege to be of service to these volunteers.
Agapé’s is a non-profit organization serving the entire Western Cape. Its primary aim is to train volunteers from the community to act as emergency/safe care and foster parents for children between 0 – 18 years who have been abused, abandoned and neglected.
The aim is to ensure that children who appear in immediate and dire need are placed in a secure and homely environment, pending further Children’s Court inquiries.
Agapé has linked up with the Child Protection Protocol, the after hour emergency service provided by the District Offices of the Department of Social Development to provide an excellent service.
Agapé arranges 2 monthly meetings and workshops with safe care and foster parents in the different areas to discuss placement problems and to address learning needs through workshops.
“We make a living by what we get. We make a life by what we give.” Thank you Agape for the opportunity.
