What People Say

It’s always great to hear your thoughts on our workshops. If you have any feedback for us, we’d love to hear from you…

WORKSHOP HOSTED BY RENEE LIGHTON AT PLETTENBERG BAY PRIMARY SCHOOL.

We had the privilege of hosting and attending a workshop by Renee Lighton at Plettenberg Bay Primary School in February. The workshop was attended by parents and teachers and was a huge success.
Renee is a dynamic speaker, who gets everyone involved, excited, and thinking! Her ideas are endless, and most importantly, fun.
And the great thing is, the activities don't cost anything, as you can use items from around the house - so no excuses.

I believe every parent and teacher left the workshop having learnt something from Renee, and will be learning through play with their children!
Thank you for a great, positive, fun evening. We will definitely be back for more the next time.

I’ve recently met with Renee & am inspired & energised by her ideas using recycled materials as learning equipment.

I highly recommend her courses. It’s particularly good for coaching parents on how to PLAY (talk/learn) with their young children.

Second time round!

Just mailing to say thanx for another informative evening last night. My daughter 5 years and son almost 2 are already both engaged in the fun "games", and really got me thinking a bit more and seeing things in a more useful and creative way.

Parent & teacher workshops make a difference!

"Thank you so much for last night, our parents were all talking about it this morning; how engaged and informative you were, how much practical advice they received, and some even gave feedback of games they played with their boys this morning!"

"All odds seemed against me the morning of Renee's workshop but I arrived on time for one of the most unforgettable hours of 2015. Renee is an inspiration to anyone involved in educating children. The skills learnt that day were put to work that very week. The book made out of a recycled A4 page was the one that I'v tried with children of all ages and their ideas were amazing. The idea of making learning tools from recycled items is inspiring another project at the school too. Thank you Renee for having your finger on the pulse and your "light on" the needs of the children of the world."

Hi Renee

Thank you, once more for your Time, Effort and the Positive Energy at the "LightOn" workshop. I wished you could see the work carried out yesterday at the first session. The literacy tutors immediately implemented and applied themselves in their one-one experience. Of course we had loads of smiles and wide-eyed learners enjoying every minute! The principal popped in at the sessions and immediately called me aside and expressed gratitude, when he saw the little one's smiling....

Thank you, thank you for always inspiring and motivating the reading helpers. As you said... They are the MOST IMPORTANT PEOPLE in the Life of our children.

Regards,

Hi Renee
Your talk was just so inspiring, thank you. I gave my one year old a tin with bottle tops and she sat playing with it for about half an hour, while we were waiting at the uif offices. AMAZING!!!!
Thank you again! I am also loving the book!

I wanted to say thank you so much for your guidance and input during this year. After our first meeting with you in January (2014), there were one or two things that you said to us that have just made all the difference.
We have stuck to it and we have had a very successful and happy year!

A very special thank you for coming to chat to the Moms Circle Group this morning at Mediclinic Cape Town.

It was incredibly special and vital how you focused on Mom Wellness (the importance of taking care of themselves first, in order to be energised sufficiently to care for their babes in return). Being a Mom involves such a huge variety of duties, thank you for your comprehensive talk pertaining to speech and language development and in addition how you made the Moms aware of parenting and thinking positively, sharing so many hints and tips with the Moms.

Emma (one of the Moms) was so impressed, she said I have only just joined Moms Circle Group and Renee highlighted so many aspects of Motherhood, including giving me sage advice regarding coping with my 'internalising' of my stress!

Thank you so, so much for your fantastic workshop today. I've gone through the evaluation forms and we received such positive feedback! Examples below:

- Presenter was well prepared and had our attention at all times.
- Was aimed at various competency levels which was incredibly helpful. Great that it was cost effective. Visual presentation could have been reinforced on a screen.
- Renee was wonderful, I feel comfortable working with her and would like to have more training sessions with her.
- Gave me great ideas on how to play with the children I work with and how to involve the parents
- I work with kids on a regular basis and got great ideas on how to incorporate different things in my therapy sessions and how cost effective it could be.
As you can see, all out members found it very valuable, I did not come across any negative feedback.
Thank you once again and we wish you all the best for your future endeavours, which will hopefully include more work with us!

Thank you, Renee

Hallo Bev,
Ek wil net terugvoer gee oor Rene se praatjie by ons AGM laas Donderdag.
.
Nogmaals ‘n groot dankie.

The Workshop run for parents by Rene at our school was simply fantastic. Not only was it informative and practical but also a relaxed, fun and unthreatening environment for parents to learn in. It was amazing to go “back to basics” and discover the value of simple house hold objects in supporting our children’s learning. Thank you René – an egg box will never be quite the same for us.
